Weapon Damage and Flat Damage
How a skill’s weapon-damage percentage carries regular weapon damage and eligible equipment flat damage into the skill.
Standard explanation
A skill with weapon damage carries the regular weapon attack and eligible equipment flat damage into that skill at its displayed percentage. At 100% it carries the full amount, at 50% half, and at 150% one and a half times the amount.
Deep explanation
- A skill’s displayed weapon-damage percentage scales the regular weapon attack and its eligible effects by that percentage.
- Equipment flat damage applies to weapon attacks and to skills through their weapon-damage component.
- Percent damage bonuses apply to all dealt damage of their damage type.
- Flat Elemental damage is divided equally into Fire, Cold, and Lightning; percent Elemental damage applies its full value to each of those types.
Weapon component = regular weapon attack × weapon damage / 100
Eligible equipment-flat component = equipment flat damage × weapon damage / 100
Elemental flat E = Fire E/3 + Cold E/3 + Lightning E/3

The flat-damage composition of an individual skill and which extra effects are eligible through its weapon-damage component must be derived from its linked DBR records and scenario-specific checks. This page does not treat them as universal.

Summary
Key point: To benefit from equipment flat damage, use a skill with a weapon-damage component. A skill without that component does not gain the same equipment-flat contribution.
